Rising abruptly from the surrounding western plains, the Grampians (Gariwerd) is a series of rugged sandstone mountain ranges and forests rich in wildlife. One of Victoria’s most popular holiday destinations, the park is a great venue for camping, climbing, scenic drives, bushwalks and nature study.
A network of walking tracks throughout the park allows you to explore cascading waterfalls, brilliant spring wildflower displays, and panoramic views from lookouts.
Brambuk is about bringing life to the history and culture of the Jardwadjali and Djab Wurrung and Aboriginal communities of south-western Victoria. Ownership of Brambuk is shared between five Aboriginal communities with historic links to the Gariwerd - Grampians ranges and the surrounding plains.
Chat to information staff about the many recreational opportunities available, visit the spectacular Gariwerd dreaming theatre, explore interpretive displays or relax in the bush tucker café. Cultural Rangers will be able to take you on a bush tucker walk or rock art tour, or you can try your hand at traditional Aboriginal painting methods.
Hike across the rugged Grampians’ landscape to a number of ancient rock art sights. The region has the largest number of rock art sites in southern Australia and over eighty percent of Victoria’s rock art sites. Halls Gap is home to one of Australia’s longest running food and wine festivals, the Grampians Grape Escape.The event is held over the first weekend of May every year. Launched in 1992, the Grampians Grape Escape is a hallmark event for Victoria and provides food and wine offerings by more than 100 local artisan producers, live music and family entertainment.

Situated at the foothills of the majestic Grampians mountain ranges, the Halls Gap Zoo comprises 160 species of native & exotic mammals, reptiles and birds. Observe the inquisitive meerkats, gigantic giraffe, velocious cheetah, regal red panda, playful lemurs, colourful macaws and a plethora of wallaby and kangaroo species. This is a great experience for all ages.
Halls Gap hosts the Run the Gap event every last Sunday in May annually. Participants can complete a 6km walk/run along Fyans Creek trail, run 12km including a lap across the wall at stunning Lake Bellfield, or test themselves in the 21km trail run. All proceeds from the run go to community projects.
